Dating from the 18th century, this superb pair of French walnut, Louis XV period, fauteuil cane base and backed chairs has developed a beautiful patina over many, many years.

  

Floral bouquets and garlands of foliage make it possible to date these chairs between 1750 and 1770.

  

Harmoniously proportioned, these chairs are as generous as they are comfortable.  

  

Previously owned by a famous French actress living in Caen, Northern France.......imagine the secrets they hold!

  

As seen from the photographs, these chairs have had some restoration during their extremely long life, resulting in their continued practical use while still remaining totally exquisite.  We have chosen not to finish the frames to retain their charming character.
