A wonderful antique French Louis XIV style overmantle crested mirror dating from the late 18th Century.   This wood and gesso crested mirror is in outstanding condition considering its age.

 

The crest features an abundance of scrolls, flowers and leaves; scrolls decorate the outer frame and small flowers decorate the inner frame.  

 

The silver mirror plate is original, with a few very minor marks. The parquet back-boards are in fine condition holding the mirror firmly in place.  Overall this mirror is in remarkable condition.
